Nicholai was taken aback for a few seconds as his eyebrows twitched. He kept his gaze within hers before he finally remembered to breathe. The poor guy was somewhat in a daze, which made him feel like a teenage boy again. The sides of lips started to curl with interest. This time he managed to pull himself back to reality.
"Even if it could have been better I would have done the same just to be with you."
Her reply put him more at ease as he gave a gentlemanly nod. Like his master, Ryder had no trouble when it came to the ladies. The guardian nuzzled his beak near her cheek when she stroked him. Only animals could get away with being this close, which he tended to tease Nicholai about. He subtly rolled his eyes as a light chuckle escaped.
"It's fine with me."
When Konane entered the scene, the man's expression softened at the majestic wolf. He was beginning to think that something was brewing between the two guardians, but shrugged off the feeling. His Grey hues trailed to the young woman with curiosity. Nicholai had not expected her to accept so willingly. He contemplated if this was the right thing to do.
"You can stay if you want. It's late and soon the roads are wet, not safe to drive in conditions like that."
The humidity in the air changed, bringing in a breeze that smelt of rain. Clouds rolled through the sky and a rumbling of thunder crackled beneath their feet. Ryder let out a squawk as he shivered in fear. Nicholai couldn't help but to grin at her concern. He knew better than to go against a woman's intuition. Plus, his wounds weren't entirely healed so it was beginning to take a toll on his body.
"If that's not too much trouble, I'd like to take you up on that offer." he replied.
"I guess I have to tell you this and try to prepare you a little. I used my ability to make them come alive in a way, like this. It's not dangerous and no poisonous plants on this side of the house and this is the only plants that acts like this."
"As long as I don't get attacked in my sleep, I think I'll survive through the night."
Sheets of rain surrounded them as they transparently glistened. He looked down at her hand then intertwined his fingers with hers. Nicholai smirked at the keys that slid from the vines. "Clever." he amusingly spoke.
"Don't worry about your motorcycle by the way. The plants can put it into the garage, if you not prefer it any other way of course."
"I would very much appreciate it."
As they made their way into the warmth of her home, Nicholai noticed the antique furniture and carved masks hanging from the living room wall. There was a touch of elegance in every detail. He felt like he was in another world, a world that was of Kawena's. It was a nice place to escape from the pressures of everyday life. His body language was a bit tense at the thought of possibly intruding. If he was going to stay... then he would make himself useful.
The crow perched himself onto the couch as he watched the two venture further away.
